Freed’s Bakery will be opening a new shop in the heart of Las Vegas.

“I’ve always been a fan of downtown Las Vegas and it feels like the right time to expand,” Co-Owner Max Jacobson-Fried said. “At 630 square feet it will be our smallest space yet and we’re opening in a totally new spot.”

The bakery is opening at 20 E. California Ave. just off Charleston Boulevard.

“I really like the Arts District,” Jacobson-Fried explained. “I think the whole area has a nook and cranny feel to it. You go down any street and you can find a cool restaurant or check out a fun little neighborhood. It just seemed like a great fit.”

Freed’s Bakery is planning on a summer opening at the new store.

“We’re going to be at the Corner Building at Main and California in a little corner space sharing the same parking lot as Cream Me and a sushi spot,” Jacobson-Fried said.

Freed’s Bakery has been in Las Vegas since the 1950s and has become a third-generation bakery loved by locals and tourists alike. Its European buttercream is made from scratch and its menu includes dessert cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other pastries. Some of its signature cake flavors include white cake, chocolate cake, marble cake, red velvet cake, and more.

“We’re having fun with the new space,” Jacobson-Fried said.

He said the signage was going to pop and the bakery will serve its vintage Las Vegas roots along with modern reconstruction.
