Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken is calling it quits in Southern California.

The Washington, D.C.-based restaurant chain has shuttered its storefronts in DTLA, at 516 W 6th St., and in Santa Monica, at 2309 Main St.

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken announced the news Sunday on Facebook.

“Thanks for your support of Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken in Los Angeles,” according to the announcement.

“Sadly, we have decided to close our Downtown L.A. and Santa Monica shops…”

In doing so, the company will also “stop operating our Southern California food truck.”

“We will miss serving you here, but invite you to visit our original Astro locations when you’re in the Washington, D.C. area.”

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken has only been in the LA-area for a few years.

It opened downtown in 2017 and in Santa Monica in 2019.

Co-founders Elliot Spaisman and Jeff Halpern did not provide a reason for the closures.
