FreeMarket Gallery, a pop-up art gallery showcasing contemporary work, and a new short-term immersive experience from The Bakery, have both signed leases to open spaces at Underground Atlanta, Developer WRS Inc. shared with What Now Atlanta in an email.

Parsa Behnamiri, Matt Daniels, and Hayedeh Badiei’s FreeMarket Gallery, which launched its inaugural exhibition In This Moment in early November, is popping up at the corner of Pryor and Alabama Streets in the 86 Pryor building on Block Three.

The Bakery’s founder Willow Goldstein and team will transform 10,000 square feet of former retail space at the New Square building on Block One.

Private and semi-private programming will begin later this month, with an anticipated official opening in February 2020.

“We are very excited for both the FreeMarket and The Bakery teams to join the Underground community,” Craig Waters, general manager of Underground, said in a prepared statement Thursday.

“These tenants will mark a new era of arts in South Downtown and their arrival is just the start of what we have in store for Underground.”
