A new restaurant is on its way to Koreatown called Dae Jun Gwag. The proposed 3,193-square-foot development is still early in the permitting process, but Steve Kim, a representative for the owner, told What Now Los Angeles that the hope is to open before the end of the year, around November.
Once it debuts at 3625 W 6th Street, Dae Jun Gwag will offer 12 karaoke rooms, 117 interior seats, and 34 exterior seats on a 782-square-foot patio.
“Nothing is set in stone right now,” concerning the menu items, Kim said, but there will be Korean fusion dishes, such as fried chicken.
Kim is the president and CEO of GSD Partners, a consulting firm specializing in governmental advocacy, political consulting, land use/planning issues, and public relations. He has served on the staff for both former Councilmember Nate Holden and Speaker Herb Wesson. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce.
Dae Gwag, the owner, has been a part of the community for a long time, according to Kim, who said, “he has extensive experience in this industry. With this experience, he is really achieving his American dream of opening his own karaoke restaurant.”
