Dorian Villaseñor is the former co-owner of Calle Tacos in Hollywood, a beloved local Mexican restaurant known for having some of the best fish tacos in the city as well as gargantuan, three-foot-long California burritos. On May 15, 2020, Villaseñor’s business, located at 6508 Hollywood Boulevard, closed its doors for the final time, but there is hope for the future.
“[I] had to close Calle Tacos after eight years of operation,” Villaseñor told What Now Los Angeles, “not due to COVID, but was forced out of my lease. I had no choice but to start all over and rebrand myself.”
A week or so ago, Villaseñor launched her new business venture, Bésame Tacos, and there is the potential for her to open a location in Pasadena. She has not yet been approved for the still-disclosed location, but she recently sent an offer for a lease.
With this, she is taking many of the same recipes from Calle Tacos, offering authentic Mexican food with a modern twist. Bésame Tacos is currently operated out of a virtual kitchen in Koreatown, called CloudKitchens. Those interested in tasting authentic ceviche, taquitos, tostadas, burritos, and, of course, tacos are able to order the dishes on Uber Eats, Door Dash, Grubhub, and Postmates.
