Piara Pizza in the middle of the month will debut a drive-thru-only outpost in Westmont, at 10111 S. Normandie Ave., in space previously home to Mot & Bet’s Soul Food Eatery & Catering. Owner Mohammad Newman told What Now Los Angeles this week that the official opening is on the books for Thursday, September 17, but the fast-casual pizza chain could soft-debut next week.
Later down the road, plans to open in Van Nuys, at 6800 Balboa Boulevard, are underway. The new San Fernando Valley Piara Pizza won’t arrive until Valentine’s Day in 2021, Newman said. The location previously housed a pro boxing shop.
The business was founded in Compton, California 15 years ago. Piara Pizza has several locations in California with additional plans to come to Downey, Long Beach, Colton, Taft, Salinas, Firebaugh, and Beaumont. The company is also making moves to expand to Illinois and Texas, specifically El Paso, Eagle Pass, and Corpus Christi.
Newman described the food as “fresh and ready,” where customers don’t have to wait for pizzas to be prepped or baked before eating. “It’s always ready.” The menu includes a breakfast pizza with cheese and egg with the optional bacon, sausage, or veggies. There is also a dessert pizza topped with Nutella and strawberries.
