Chaumont Bakery is expanding with an outpost in Santa Monica, at 2929 Pennsylvania Ave., all thanks to the great amount of success at its Beverly Hills space. This Santa Monica address is meant to broaden the company’s reach and attract more people who haven’t had the chance to try out Chaumont Bakery’s pastries. The Santa Monica location is also meant to accommodate its high production needs, Owner Frederic Laski told What Now Los Angeles. Its staple is its mouth-watering and buttery French croissants which are so popular, it’s been nearly running them dry. It’s also a pretty big spot to get a cup of coffee. Currently, Chaumont Bakery has 700 reviews with an average of 4.5 stars.

“We don’t joke around with our croissants,” Laski said of its delicious pastry, which is made with authentic French butter. “They can tell the difference,” he said, referring to his croissant-loving regulars. On top of its highly popular croissants, Chaumont Bakery also sells breakfast items and sandwiches.

Chaumont Bakery is a family business, owned and self-grown from the ground up by Laski and his wife Laila Abddaim. After working an array of “boring” corporate jobs, the couple dropped everything and settled in California to offer the LA area the most high-quality French-style pastries.

Chaumont Bakery’s Santa Monica space is currently under construction and Laski is predicting an opening sometime in mid-2021. The 2,000-square-foot corner unit, a two-minute drive from Lionsgate Entertainment headquarters, sits within a large mixed-use building.

While this time around, the idea was to go “much bigger,” Laski and Abddaim plan to head in the direction of smaller spaces, more focused on producing coffee and those greatly sought-after croissants, in future Chaumont Bakery outposts.
