El Roto CA food truck has made its way around Long Beach for the better part of four years. Now, it looks like it’s planting its roots at a solid, brick-and-mortar location at 907 N Avalon Blvd in Wilmington. This particular unit used to house Mi Cafecito Coffee Tea and Juices, which relocated in June.
A banner was first displayed seven weeks ago above the old space that bears a fresh black paint job — and El Roto CA’s iconic graphic of a hot dog eating a taco. The 2,000-square-foot unit is currently being partially built-out to alter the Mexican-style coffee shop into a full-blown taco restaurant. “Con el fabor de Dios pronto estaremos Localizados el la ciudad de Wilmington,” an Instagram post states, translating to, “With the grace of God we will soon be located in the city of Wilmington,” in English.
What Now Los Angeles reached out to El Roto CA and an employee said that an opening timeline is likely two months out. However, while LA County’s three-week outdoor dining ban will likely be lifted by then, indoor dining is a different story entirely.
