Dennis Smith with D’Camp Hospitality Group and D’Camp Entertainment is currently working on Rome Nightclub, which will be part of the LA Grand Hotel in DTLA. Smith recently filed a liquor license for the rooftop restaurant, bar, and entertainment venue, which is set for opening in 2022 atop the hotel, at 333 S Figueroa St.
Rome Nightclub is looking like an all-new concept for the hotel, which has closed down due to the pandemic. “Very soon we will begin an extensive renovation of our hotel and do not expect to reopen to the public until late 2021,” according to the LA Grand Hotel website. “When we reopen, our new look and service concepts will be both stunning and innovative including an exciting all-new outdoor experience.”
Rome Nightclub is designed to be a “modern-day Roman Colosseum,” with a 25,336-square-foot “front of house” and an “expected city-approved” capacity of 2500 to 3500 people, according to the company’s website. It will be both an indoor and outdoor venue offering a “wide array of world-class amenities with a spectacular view that overlooks and becomes part of the ever-growing Los Angeles Skyline.”
Rome’s indoor area will consist of its nightclub, while its outdoor — “Day Club” — area will offer a water/fire element, private cabanas, and several lounge areas complete with bottle service. The company plans to make a charitable donation equal to five percent of its quarterly net earnings to a local DTLA homeless organization. “It is our goal to help end the homeless epidemic,” the company writes on its website.
On top of being in the hospitality and entertainment industries, Smith has worked for Maximum Realty and Property Management, where he represented over 200 commercial and residential properties. Smith graduated with honors from Western Illinois University in 1981 and has since worked in many different fields — even developing patents for products utilized in restaurants and automobiles.
