Rakkan Ramen, a chain of restaurants based out of Japan, is expanding to Georgia with an outpost in Johns Creek.

Wife and husband team Young and Kazuhiro Tamaki are the franchisees bringing the Japanese eatery to the state.

Rakkan Ramen will open in the Medlock Crossing shopping center, at 9700 Medlock Bridge Rd., in August 2020, Young Tamaki in an email told What Now Atlanta (WNA).

It will be the fourth U.S. location, joining three existing franchises in Los Angeles, California.

Additional details regarding the Johns Creek outpost are unclear. While Tamaki confirmed the plans, the co-franchisee did not respond to a request from WNA for more information.

There are also plans for the chain to pop-up in Chicago and Houston, according to the Rakkan Ramen website.

Rakkan Ramen is one of at least three ramen eateries that have recently expanded from LA to the Atlanta-area, or plan on doing so this year.

Los Angeles Michelin Bib Gourmand ramen shop Okiboru has already opened in Sandy Springs with plans to debut more local outposts, and Silverlake Ramen is coming soon to Midtown.
