A popular Korean hot dog chain will open its first location in Ohio at the Polaris Fashion Place, located at 1500 Polaris Pkwy, according to recent reporting. The Anaheim, California based chain is known for serving Korean style corn dogs made with rice flour batter for a uniquely chewy, crispy texture.
Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog will open on the mall’s second floor food hall this summer and will bring a menu loaded with Korean hot dogs, street food and beverages. Each dog is dipped into rice flour batter and rolled in panko before frying, which creates a crispier crust than the traditional cornbread battered hot dog. Some of the batters include a sweet potato rice hot dog, ramen chips rice hot dog and hot Cheetos rice hot dog.
The menu also features Korean fried chicken and chicken burgers, Korean street food like Tteokbokki, which are chewy spicy rice cakes in a bright red sauce made from soy sauce, sugar, red chili flakes and gochujang, a paste made from fermented soybeans that’s used extensively in Korean dishes, such as the rice dish bibimbap. The drink menu includes coffee, juices and boba milk tea.
