When Breakers Coffee + Wine opens at Del Mar Highlands Town Center, patrons will certainly have two distinct choices of what kind of buzz to catch. The incoming coffee shop and wine bar this week hit a big milestone in heading toward its opening this spring — the filing for its alcohol license.

The outdoor coffee and wine bar will feature outdoor seating and a to-go counter. Customers will be able to purchase coffee and win flights for a unique tasting experience.

Adding to the distinctiveness of the project, Breakers’ coffee will be domestically grown, right in North County at owner Kyle Rosa’s own Bluetail Coffee Grove. According to Eater San Diego, Rosa plans to create his own line of wines as well as partnering with Saucelito Canyon Vineyard.

Breakers Coffee + Wine is yet to have an official opening date, but it is expected to open in Del Mar spring 2021. Reps for the company on Thursday did not immediately provide an update.
