Ebrik Coffee Room has permanently closed its downtown storefront of six years, the company Tuesday announced in an Instagram post.
“[COVID-19] kicked us out,” Ebrik wrote on the social media page.
“Seriously, we had to make the tough decision to close down the shop downtown.”
In closing the downtown coffee shop, Ebrik is shifting its focus to micro-roasting with a roastery and tasting room slated to open later this year in Castleberry Hill.
“We are continuing to bring community comfort culture, but in new and exciting ways,” Ebrik wrote.
Ebrik’s new roastery is slated to open in loft office and co-working facility Koncept House, at 141 Mangum St. SW.
Co-Owner Abbas Arman on Tuesday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
Ebrik has two remaining coffee shops in Decatur and inside the Carlos Museum at Emory University.

That’s a pretty misleading headline. It appears the landlord kicked them out and that is not even mentioned in the story. If Covid kept them from maintaining the business, that’s one thing, but being kicked out is another.
Great coffee shop – I’ve had many group project meetings here when I was attending GSU.
The customer base is probably 85% students and 15% office workers. When everyone WFH and the GSU campus closed they suffered. Sorry to see it go. It is one of the bright spots of downtown.
