The Nook on Piedmont Park will shift from in-house dining to curbside pick up and to-go orders effective immediately, the owners shared with What Now Atlanta in an emailed statement on Monday.

“Today, our goals are to protect our Nook family and Guests from COVID-19 and to help our community get through this crisis the best we can,” according to the statement.

The Nook’s to-go menu, contact and ordering information, available online, will change to include breakfast items soon.

In the next couple of days, the Nook will also offer online ordering and local delivery, as well as partnering with Grubhub and other online delivery services.

“To continue our commitment to giving back, all of our Totchos (tater tots, nacho hybrids) during this time will be ‘Giving Totchos,’ and they will all support The Giving Kitchen. We want to do all we can help others in our industry impacted by this pandemic.”

Though there has been no state-level mandate to close restaurant operations, as has been done in other states, a slew of Atlanta’s restaurants like The Nook and Shake Shack have responded independently to the COVID-19 threat in various ways, including closing dining rooms, shifting to mobile models and altering operating hours.
