Atlanta Fringe Festival 2025 offers an expanded two-week schedule featuring more than 60 diverse performances throughout East Atlanta. Since its inception in 2012, the Atlanta Fringe has presented festivals showcasing live theater, dance, comedy, storytelling, puppetry, and much else.

Festival Expansion and Key Details
The 13th Annual Atlanta Fringe Festival will be bigger than ever, taking place from May 28 to June 8, 2025. The festival will be two weeks long, for the very first time, expanding from five to 11 days this year. This expansion makes a more robust schedule possible with 60 groups performing from around the nation, along with featured performances by some of Atlanta’s most beloved local performers.
Artist Selection Process
Artists who apply for the Atlanta Fringe Festival are selected through an unjuried lottery system; thus, it is available to artists from all backgrounds, disciplines, and experience levels. Artists selected to perform in the Atlanta Fringe Festival are assured four performances and a single technical rehearsal at one of the festival spaces.
Artists receive 100% of box office earnings (minus minor fees) and have an opportunity to win cash prizes from audience voting, Producer’s Choice, and Critic’s Choice awards.

Festival venues are located throughout East Atlanta, including neighborhoods like Little Five Points, East Atlanta Village, and the Old Fourth Ward. Each ground has the technical facilities needed and is manned by festival professionals and volunteers to ensure that events go on smoothly.

In addition to its core performances, the 2025 Atlanta Fringe Festival offers curated programs and special events aimed at engaging diverse audiences.
- Fringe Audio
Atlanta Fringe Audio 2025 is set to launch on Tuesday, May 20. This season will feature wonderful audio art by 21 artist companies from across the country. The audience can treat themselves to “Theatre For Your Ears” by accessing these productions on the festival’s website.
- Street Fringe
May 30-June 1 & June 7-8, festival-goers can enjoy free outdoor performances by an incredible variety of musicians, dancers, comedians, and more. The performances will be at different outdoor venues around Little Five Points and East Atlanta Village, providing open entertainment to everyone.
- Kids Fringe
Kids Fringe 2025 features live shows, crafts, games, and activities specifically designed for families, and they’re all free. The programs are planned for Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, and again Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Five/5ths Performance
Monday, June 2, offers the festival’s “Five/5ths of The Fifth Element,” in which the cult sci-fi movie is split into five different pieces and turned over to five different performing ensembles to reinterpret in their unique styles.
- Free Preview Night
The festival provides two preview parties to assist attendees in planning their Fringe experience. The Georgia Artists Preview Party on May 20 and the Touring Artists Preview Party on May 28 feature three-minute previews of all shows along with special guests and prizes.
