According to WalletHub’s analysis, Atlanta has secured the fourth spot among the most fun cities in the United States. From iconic music venues to sprawling parks and recreational centers, Atlanta offers something for every interest and age group.

Atlanta Ranked as One of the Most Fun Cities in the US

Atlanta secured a strong fourth place due to its cultural, nightlife, food, and affordable entertainment options. Las Vegas claimed the top spot, followed by Orlando in second, Miami in third, and New Orleans completing the top five.

“The most fun cities naturally include some of the most popular tourist destinations in the U.S., like Las Vegas, Orlando, and Miami, but these cities are far more than tourist traps,” Chip Lupo, WalletHub Analyst.

“They provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for all types of interests, from sports to theaters to arcades, and they have plenty of diverse restaurants to try. The top cities offer affordable options for year-round fun for their residents, which is good for residents’ wallets and their mental health,” added Lupo.

Why Atlanta Earned a Top Spot This Year

WalletHub evaluated over 180 destinations to highlight which city in the country offers the most variety of fun. They vary from the number of fitness centers and affordability of movie tickets to how long local breweries stay open.

Each city was evaluated using 65 indicators across three categories: entertainment and recreation, nightlife, and overall affordability.

Each metric was scored on a 100-point scale to reflect the availability and variety of affordable fun. Atlanta delivered strong scores in overall nightlife and entertainment options.

Where Atlanta Outperforms Other Major Metros

According to Urbanize, Atlanta has ranked 7th in festivals per capita, 9th in restaurants per capita, 17th in playgrounds per capita, 51st in bar accessibility, and 48th in terms of Parkland acres per capita.

Atlanta ranked 7th for fitness centers, 10th for dance clubs, and 19th for attractions per capita.
