Patrons visit this Lawrenceville food establishment for Chinese and Thai delicacies. However, Golden Palace was cited for multiple violations during the June 25 inspection. The person in charge (PIC) had an inadequate understanding of foodborne illnesses and their symptoms.
The PIC could not explain the cleaning procedures for a vomiting/diarrheal incident at Golden Palace as well. However, the violation was corrected on-site after the inspectors’ suggestion.
Food inspectors also observed three dented cans at the Metro Atlanta facility. Taking corrective action, the staff moved them to their designated area to return the cans to the supplier.
The food packages at Golden Palace were exposed to potential contamination. Further, its ice machine, utensils, and food-contact surfaces needed cleaning.
Several food items, including shrimp, were kept for cold holding at incorrect temperatures. The on-site inspectors suggested Golden Palace’s staff maintain it at 41°F (5°C) or below. This issue was corrected during the routine inspection.
The food prep staff kept stored used utensils in room-temperature water. While taking pauses between cooking, they kept the utensils in the wrong areas. After suggestions by the inspectors, Golden Palace’s staff corrected these violations on-site.
The walk-in cooler had incorrect food temperatures at the Lawrenceville facility. The warewashing machine, sink compartments, and drainboards were dirty. Food inspectors noted live roaches in the kitchen at the food establishment.
