A routine health inspection was conducted on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar. During this inspection, officials noted several health code violations, including one that had been found for the third time. The report indicates the issues may be related to insufficient active managerial control.
The staff did not change gloves when handling raw chicken or touching clean items used for food service. Disposable gloves are supposed to be used and changed between tasks.
Food debris was also found on plates that were stored as clean, while the ice machine had also built up debris. Some foods were not cooked properly, while TCS food was not stored according to the food code.
Finally, the temperature in two prep coolers exceeded the allowable 41°F threshold. Proper maintenance has been ordered for the two coolers before the follow-up inspection. However, as this is the third consecutive violation of the same code, the restaurant’s permit has been suspended until compliance is verified. A detailed health report can be found online.
Follow-up Inspections Scheduled
A follow-up inspection will be conducted within 10 days, giving the restaurant enough time to correct the noted violations. However, as one of these violations has been noted for the third time in a row, the permit has been suspended until the corrective measures are enforced.
