SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Buckhead Sells
SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Buckhead, Atlanta, is a premier select-service and all-suite hotel. The 11-story building offers 220 suites and multiple amenities, including 131 subterranean parking spaces. Hodges Ward Elliott (HWE) brokered the transaction, representing the seller.
HWE is a hospitality-focused real estate capital markets advisory firm and part of Franklin Street’s national platform. It is part of Franklin Street’s national platform and announced the sale of the Buckhead property. The deal marks the first brokered hotel transaction in the submarket in years, according to Clint Hodges, senior vice president and executive managing director at HWE.
Unique Property Features
The hotel sits within Buckhead, one of Atlanta’s most active mixed-use districts. The property fronts the heavily trafficked Buckhead Loop, boosting visibility. Its proximity to the Buckhead MARTA station also adds to the property’s visibility and accessibility.
Amenities include 2,233 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool, a fitness center, and a large outdoor patio. Its ample parking spaces add to the property’s value.
Future Enhancements Under New Ownership
According to Michael Tormey, senior director at HWE, new ownership is planning a comprehensive renovation. The renovation will touch all aspects of the guest experience and the hotel’s technological infrastructure. Planned upgrades include guest rooms, meeting areas, public spaces, and amenities.
Back-of-house areas and the building envelope will also be upgraded. The hotel will remain affiliated with SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The renovation is expected to position the hotel as the most recently renovated Marriott-branded property in Buckhead.
