State-of-the-art building to use the “most advanced technology” in sports medicine.

The Atlanta Hawks and Emory Healthcare joining forces in order to build a 90,000-square-foot training and sports medicine complex, according to an Atlanta Hawks press statement.

The new building – which will be located on Executive Park Drive in Brookhaven – will also serve as the Hawks’ official practice site.

Reportedly, the privately-funded facility will be state-of-the-art, with plans to will utilize the “most advanced technology” in sports medicine.

The building will also be home to The Hawks Basketball Operations Department once it is completed.

As a part of the partnership, Emory will become the official sports medicine provider for the team

HOK – which designed both the Porsche Cars North America Experience Center and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium – will be the leading architectural team for the new project. H.J. Russell & Co. will serve as the project management team.

The facility is slated to break ground this summer.

  • Here’s hoping this partnership doesn’t follow the precedent of the Proton Center. That monstrosity is likely to tie up a prime Midtown lot for foreseeable future.
