Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) is moving forward with plans to develop the second phase of Boulevard Crossing Park.

Now through November 29, ABI is requesting statements of qualifications from firms or individuals interested in developing the park’s design, according to an announcement Thursday.

The second phase of the park will expand the green space to more than 23 acres and include public art, a playground, a splash pad, expansion of the two fields, trails, and a connection to the Southside Trail.

The first phase of Boulevard Crossing Park opened in 2011 with five acres of new green space and two athletic fields.

The Boulevard Crossing Park site sits between Englewood Avenue SE and Boulevard SE in the Chosewood Park neighborhood.

The northwest corner of the park is adjacent to the future Southside Trail, which was purchased by the City of Atlanta in March of 2018 and is currently under design as the Atlanta Beltline’s next major multi-use corridor.

Master planning for the park was adopted by Atlanta City Council in 2009 as part of the Subarea Master Planning process.

The selected designer will build on these plans to produce detail designs that will guide construction of the park.

Community engagement for the design process will commence once a design team has been selected.
