Westside Atlanta Charter School (WACS) will open in Fulton County for the 2013-2014 academic year.

The charter school, at 1903 Drew Drive, submitted a building permit application with City of Atlanta Wednesday to build out space in Columbia Crest residences.

The 6,000-square-foot school will open in space originally intended for retail, according to the permit.

An estimated $445,000 will be spent on the school’s buildout.

WACS  was approved by Atlanta Public Schools in September 2012 and is currently enrolling kindergarten, first and second grade students.
