The Colony Square Groundbreaking Tuesday marked the start of construction for the mixed-use project’s redevelopment.
North American Properties (NAP) and several hundred Atlantans Tuesday celebrated the Colony Square Groundbreaking in Midtown.
The public event marked the beginning of the mixed-use project’s long-awaited redevelopment; what NAP has been calling a “reimagination” since the developer in 2015 acquired the property.
NAP Tuesday also launched a “microsite” that will chronicle the redevelopment.
A concrete wrecking ball—signed by guests in attendance—shattered windows on Building 500 (once home to Houlihan’s) while air cannons fired confetti and glitter into the air.
Tuesday’s groundbreaking kicked off the redevelopment’s first phase of demolition and foundation work which will continue through November.
Following the redevelopment’s completion in fall 2019, NAP promises a “world-class food hall, chef-driven restaurants, curated retail, fitness studios, cinematic shows, unparalleled experiences, snd so much more.”
