Emory Point’s empty Earth Fare anchor space, at 1578 Avenue Pl #200, won’t sit dark long.
Emory University has leased the 20,252-square-foot unit following the grocer’s departure last year, according to the center’s latest site plan (pictured above).
“I can confirm that we’re leasing the space,” Laura Diamond, a spokeswoman for Emory University, in an email this week told What Now Atlanta.
How the university will use the space is unclear.
“I will provide details when they’re available,” Diamond said.
Several permit applications have been submitted for the project to the City of Atlanta this week by Emory through an expediter.
“Emory Point Center for Innovation and Social Enterprise” is listed as the project’s name but that’s just a “placeholder,” according to Diamond.
The $2,000,000 construction price tag listed in the official filings is also subject to change, she said.
“We’ll have cost estimates once the project is further along.”
