A revitalized hotel in Midtown is getting ready to opens its doors to guests this year.

The 101-year-old, Spanish Colonial-inspired property at 1302 W Peachtree St NW is expected to open this summer as Hotel Granada. The hotel will have “an urban oasis feel, where Spanish bohemian meets Southern charm.”

The new hotel from Aparium Hotel Group will have 120 rooms and an open-air courtyard featuring Pom Court, the hotel’s signature bar and restaurant that will serve as an all-day dining destination. The restaurant will offer a quick-service menu of coffee and pastries during the week, brunch dishes on the weekend, and a full-service menu of cocktails and Spanish-Southern small plates in the afternoons and evenings.

There will also be a “moody cocktail bar” below the historic building, slated to open following the hotel.

Architect Ken Gowland of MetroStudio led the architecture rehabilitation and preservation of the building, while interior designer Cameron Carr spearheaded the design.

“The unveiling of Hotel Granada marks a significant milestone for us,” said Aparium Hotel Group CEO and founder Mario Tricoci. “Hotel Granada stands as a testament to Atlanta’s enduring spirit and reflects Aparium’s commitment to creating distinctive, independent hotels within the vibrant communities we’re proud to serve.”

The site originally opened in 1924 as the Granada Apartments before becoming a hotel in 1984. The property was sold in 2022.

Hotel Granada is being redeveloped by Scarp Ridge Capital Partners and Monomoy Property Ventures, spearheaded by Greg Rush and Kevin Vaughan, respectively.

“Beyond its convenient corner location in a fast-growing market, Hotel Granada is a unique opportunity to deliver a differentiated guest experience within Atlanta through thoughtful programming, design and architectural restoration,” Vaughan and Rush said in a news release. “We look forward to finalizing the project alongside our best-in-class design and management partners, and for Hotel Granada to play an important role in the social fabric of Atlanta for years to come.”
