Kroger is about to take shape as the anchor tenant in Fuqua’s West Midtown Center development.

The grocery chain giant this week filed plans with the City of Atlanta to develop land for its future home in the mixed-use project, at 1299 Northside Drive.

An estimated $2,000,000 will be spent readying the land for Kroger including “infrastructure” work.

Kroger was the first tenant announced for the project recognized more commonly as “Northside and 17th” (Fuqua still uses this name on its own website) earning naming rights for the center.

West Midtown Center will be home to Blaze Pizza, Chipotle, Zaxby’s, a large storage facility, and McAlister’s Deli, most of which are already under construction.

SunTrust is also building a location from the ground-up at the IKEA-adjacent development.

Fuqua is expected to build multifamily and detached single-family homes in addition to restaurant and retail.

Amtrak in the future could also open a new station at the site.

  • Hope It’s like the Glennwood location…large wine section with sommelier, multiple hot bars, ample parking, Krog bar, huge produce section and vast knowledgeable, alert, friendly people always willing to help.
