Transformation is planned for the site of a 1920s-era building in Atlanta’s Capitol View neighborhood.

An expansion is proposed for the space next to the structure at 1331 Metropolitan Parkway SW, Urbanize Atlanta reports. The expansion would include a three-story building with 9,000 square feet of planned retail, restaurant and office space.

Atlanta-based design studio Xmetrical is working on the project. Architects from the firm have submitted plans for the proposed expansion to the Atlanta Beltline Design Review Committee.

The new mixed-use space would be located behind the building at the corner of Dill Avenue and Metropolitan Parkway. Built in 1924 as a Masonic lodge, the 15,000-square-foot structure stands three stories.

The site is across the street from the Metropolitan Library and south of the Beltline Southside Trail.

The building was sold last year to Anthony Gee, co-founder and partner of The Core Venture Studio, with plans to create a Capitol View location of Koncept House. The concept, which first opened in Castleberry Hill in 2019, includes offices, showrooms and loft studios for a variety of entrepreneurs.
