‘Luxury’ retirement community of homes and condos targets the 55 and older crowd.

Isakson Living Tuesday broke ground on Peachtree Hills Place.

The residential community will offer 12 homes and 204 condominiums for the 55+ homebuyer, with move-ins set for summer 2019.

“We are excited to begin construction on this long-anticipated community which we feel will be a transitional event in how we look at residential options and lifestyles for those 55+,” Andy Isakson, managing partner of Isakson Living, said in a prepared statement this week.

“The market has already spoken. We have exceeded our pre-sales expectations with over $83 million in homes under contract with only eight homes remaining in phase I.”

Peachtree Hills Place’s residential options will be comprised of single-family custom homes and condominiums. All homes have 10-foot ceilings, high-end finishes, natural light and outdoor access.

The low-rise campus covers nearly 20 acres in the center of Peachtree Hills.

New homes in phase II of Peachtree Hills Place start at $730,000.

    • It’s not a former park. It was a large development of 2-story brick apartment homes, probably built in the early fifties. The homes were situated around the existing trees. Now? Clear-cutting.

  • The amount of tree canopy being removed for this development is a travesty. It’s the size of Phipps Plaza, being dumped right in the middle of a sweet neighborhood of small, single-family residences.
