On January 20, 2022, Atlanta Beltline Inc. is hosting a public input virtual meeting to present the draft Subarea 4 Master Plan update and obtain input from the public on the draft recommendations for land use (housing and commercial), mobility (trails and transit), parks, and greenspace.

Atlanta Beltline Inc. is currently in the process of updating the entire Subarea 4 Master Plan, which was initially completed in July 2011 and one of ten area master plans. The Master Plan guides future growth in the neighborhoods of Reynoldstown, Cabbagetown, Glenwood Park, Grant Park, Edgewood, and Ormewood Park.

Upon adopting the Subarea Four Master Plan, the document will help guide future growth for mixed-use and mixed-income communities by identifying policy goals and recommendations related to transit-oriented development, mobility, green space, affordable housing, historic preservation, and public art & culture.

According to the ABI’s website, the Master Planning process includes engaging the communities to help determine how the area is to be developed in the future. In addition, a robust public engagement strategy has been deployed, including an interactive map, virtual study group meetings, and virtual public information meetings.

Upon completing all Subarea Master Plans updates, Atlanta BeltLine Inc. will develop a comprehensive Implementation Plan and budget for projects identified and prioritized in individual subareas. This phased process will ensure a uniform approach to implementing projects and an equitable distribution of development across all geographies of the Atlanta BeltLine over time – regardless of the sequencing of Subarea Master Plans.
