Atlanta’s ‘longest running’ comedy club ready to relocate in its 33rd year.
The Punchline Comedy Club, Atlanta’s “longest running” comedy club, announced in a press release Friday plans to find a new home this year.
“It’s the right time for this move,” Jamie Bendall, co-owner of the club, said in the release.
“A variety of things lined up with redevelopment coming in Sandy Springs and some exciting things happening around Metro Atlanta. It’s hard not to love your original showroom and all of the memories from over the years; nevertheless, we’re excited for the opportunity a new location offers that will incorporate the best aspects of the current club with some new features.”
Since the first show in 1982, more than 10,000 shows with performers like Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Dave Chappelle, Larry The Cable Guy, Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Brian Regan, have appeared in the original showroom at 280 Hilderbrand Drive, according to the announcement.
Leading up to the move, the club will host “an impressive lineup of talent so both comedy lovers and comedians alike can celebrate the iconic original showroom.”
The Punchline team will host pop-up shows throughout the summer at different locations and anticipate producing shows at temporary venues until they have secured a new permanent home.

Old Fourth Ward! Near Ponce City Market or in it. There’s a lot of space opportunity also near Krog Street Market, too right on the Beltline.
Yes, O4W or Midtown!
Please stay in Sandy Springs. How about right there at Sandy Springs Circle and Hammond in the old Ace Hardware building. Pleanty of parking.
Dunwoody, GA Dunwoody Village area.
With Dad’s Garage moving, is there really a market for two comedy clubs in the O4W?
Too many hipsters in O4W. Hipsters don’t go to comedy clubs. Keep it OTP.
There’s no hotter market right now than West Midtown near King Plow, Optimist and White Provision. There are so many exciting projects being built nearby but none as cool as a famous comedy club.
