UPDATE (April 29, 2019): The Grove, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks To Open May 2019 in Colony Square

The corner of 14th and Peachtree Streets in Midtown will soon be transformed into The Grove, a new green space with 80-foot trees at the entrance of the “reimagined” Colony Square.

Developer North American Properties (NAP) this week submitted plans to the City of Atlanta for The Grove, one of several components of Colony Square’s under-construction overhaul.

Fencing earlier this year went up at the future home of The Grove in preparation for construction.

Once complete, the new green space will offer “soft seating, Spanish steps, a beer garden and plenty of shade” as the “gateway” to Main & Main, a planned 12-stall Colony Square food hall.

NAP will use the space to host more than 200 annual events, according to the mixed-use development’s website.

Since breaking ground late-2017, NAP has made several strides in moving the property’s redo forward.

Phase I—which includes adding new retail spaces along Peachtree Street at Building 100—is scheduled to open summer 2018.

Demolition of the old Houlihan’s building is underway and earlier this year plans were filed to demolish the center’s glass atrium.

Phase II will bring new retail to the ground level of Building 400 early-2019.

Colony Square on Wednesday announced plans for iPic Theater to open at the development in 2020 as the center’s entertainment anchor.
