UPDATE (August 1, 2018): [Renderings] Construction Is Underway at Seven-Story Modera Prominence Mixed-Use
Mill Creek Residential Trust LLC is moving forward with plans to develop Modera Prominence, a mixed-use project with 320 apartments, at 3475 Piedmont Road NE.
The national multifamily company this week submitted plans to the City of Atlanta to develop the six-acre site—next to Buckhead’s 18-story Prominence office tower—where Modera Prominence will be situated.
In addition to the apartments, the mixed-use development will include 21,000 square feet of retail and “underground structured parking.”
An estimated $3,725,000 could be spent on land development costs.
Modera Prominence joins a growing number of “Modera” communities around the city and around the country.
Locally, Mill Creek has six existing communities that carry the Modera name: Buckhead, Cumberland, Midtown, Morningside, Reynoldstown, and Sandy Springs.
At least unlike Novare’s Skyhouse development—which carries the same name and design with each new location—each Modera is unique and designed for the community’s respective neighborhood.

TREE MASACRE
Really bummed about the trees, especially the magnolias.
Hoping they’ll keep at least the esplanade arbor.
Shame.
Another mix-us monstrosity that destroys the trees and green spaces, and will adds to the already horrendous traffic in the area.
What an abject disgrace…
Drove by it for the first time today with the trees down. Hope it goes bankrupt.
This anger is so misguided. While it’s not quite as green as a sky scraper would be, building an in town development with a reasonable number of stories is far better for the environment than if these people were all to live in single family homes out in the suburbs. Denser development leads to a significantly smaller carbon footprint per resident than the alternative. There really weren’t that many trees there anyway – it’s not as if this was a forest.
Does anyone know what the story is with the new taller buildings they’re showing in these renderings? Any serious plans for those to go up, or just some potential future projects that most likely won’t happen?
The one of the left is an existing office building. The one on the right is a hotel that will be constructed.
