Plans were filed this week for Switchyards.
Michael Tavani, co-founder of Atlanta-based Scoutmob, is moving forward with plans to open Switchyards Downtown Club.
Tavani this week filed plans with City of Atlanta to demo nearly 18,000-square-feet of space, at 151 Spring Street, for the modern-day city club that brings consumer and design-focused startups under one roof. The project was first announced in June 2014.
The all-brick, four-story club, would include workspace, a coffee shop and lobby, an area for classes and events, the “on doers studio,” and a rooftop.
The 1920s building where Switchyards will be housed was home to tenants like Harrison Company (publisher of law books), Keelin Press (printer of greeting cards and books), and Consolidated Tire Store (dealer of Goodyear tires), according to Switchyard’s website.
A second permit filing will be required for the interior buildout and finish for Switchyards, expected to open Summer 2015.
