South Fulton Sports Center, a planned complex on a 12-acre site 2.5 miles from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, could open in 2020.

The 28,000-square-foot indoor sports facility designed to provide affordable court space to host camps, tournaments, and leagues, is set to begin crowdfunding in January.

Leigh Gayden, CEO of Gayden Companies, is overseeing the South Fulton Sports Center project.

“I personally have contributed $2.12 million in property and capital to the project,” Gayden in an email Thursday told What Now Atlanta.

“I am launching a crowdfunding campaign using the Invest Georgia Exemption beginning in January of 2019.”

The crowdfunding campaign is open to accredited and non-accredited Georgia residents to raise an additional $600K in capital.

The minimum investment for non-accredited investors is $1,000 and $10,000 for accredited investors.

If completed, the facility would have the capability to host 40 to 80 team tournaments over a single weekend, according to the project’s website.
