Plans to raze a Domino’s Pizza at 955 Spring Street and in its place erect The Mark at Atlanta, a 28-story student housing development, are moving forward.
A parking lot and a 16-apartment building will also be demolished.
Athens-based Landmark Properties Monday submitted a building permit application to the City of Atlanta for foundation work at the site, the first of several expected construction filings for the project.
An estimated $4,584,922 will be spent on the foundation for the 445,000-square-foot housing highrise.
Land for the project was acquired at the end of 2017.
Once complete, the $100 million project will offer 230 units and will be the second “Tech Square” tower for Landmark joining The Standard (a joint project with Selig.)
Sister property The Mark at Athens has 300 units with 900 beds.
I was wondering how this building will be oriented on its property?
It looks like the building is a T or L shaped, but I can’t figure out from the renderings which part of the building will sit on each of the streets of the property.
Would love some insight on that if you know.
Thank you!
Steve, the positioning of the rendering above is as if you’re standing on Spring Street between Peachtree Place and Eighth Street (in front of University House) looking Northeast (the building greyed out on the right is The Plaza Midtown on Peachtree Place). I hope that helps! ~ Caleb
