“], of Pellerin Real Estate, is converting the warehouse into a complex with six tenant spaces, according to a building permit filed with City of Atlanta.
The Nest Nursery School has outgrown their current 1,500 square foot space in Ormewood Park on Moreland Avenue and filed plans with City of Atlanta to relocate to the complex. Costs of construction will total to $180,000 according to a commercial quality control review permit. The school is also a recipient of a loan from Invest Atlanta, the city’s economic development initiative, to help fund the transition.
The nursery school announced the move on their website. The 1040 Grant setting will large and industrial, a stark contrast to the school’s current cozy residential space. A large adjacent greenspace will be converted into a playscape.
The new location will give The Nest access to Grant Park amenities such as Zoo Atlanta, the Atlanta Beltline, MARTA, and of course, the park itself.
Construction will commence this month, and the nursery school hopes to be open on August 3rd of this year.
Kristi Cameron and Mandy Palmer first opened The Nest in 2011. Since then, the school has maintained a waitlist for all classrooms.
