Boutique hotel on schedule to open Summer 2013 in former Days Inn space.

The Days Inn Atlanta Downtown is on schedule for its transformation into an Aloft hotel.

Management company Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc., submitted a building permit application with City of Atlanta Thursday for Phase II of the project, at 300 Spring Street (a permit application for $1,435,000 to remodel the hotel’s rooms was filed late Dec., 2013).

The contemporary Aloft will spend an estimated $8,175,000 adding additional square footage,  enclosing balconies, making parking lot improvements, adding a patio, common area renovations, and a bar.

Banyan Investment Group, in partnership with DeBartolo Development LLC, will spend a total of $25 million renovating the 3.1-acre property.

The Days Inn should reopen as a 242-room Aloft in summer 2013.

  • Just got a call yesterday informing that my reservation for Labor Day weekend has been canceled, so it looks like they won’t be open for Summer 2013 🙁
