Event space Black Label is set to open in Boulder Park, at 724 Monroe Dr. NE. Tony Smith, who owns White Label Creative Space downtown on Decatur Street, filed for permits to open the new event space in the building.

The $6,000 renovation will be solely for cosmetic work, including repainting and replacing light fixtures, according to the permit.

Smith’s White Label venue is a multi-functional event space “designed to accommodate an eclectic mix of social and professional activities all in the spirit of creativity, community and celebration.”

Smith was not immediately available for comment about Black Label, and we don’t know when the new event space will be up and running, but now that we’ve been vaccinated and granted mask-free socializing, we’re looking for a good space to fling our masks into the air like graduation caps in celebration.

[Correction: an earlier version of this article placed Black Label in Boulder Park. It is opening in Midtown.]
