Old Fourth Ward boutique property Wylie Hotel will open its doors for the first time on Monday, May 17, a spokesperson told What Now Atlanta in an email this week. In late April, the hotel revealed its opening team.

Mrs. P’s Bar & Kitchen, the hotel’s in-house restaurant, will open “shortly after,” but all hotel guests can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast from the eatery in the meantime, the spokesperson said.

Wylie Hotel is a redevelopment of the former 551 Ponce de Leon Hotel by partners Kim King Associates and Mainsail Lodging & Development.

It offers 111 rooms and bills itself as a “technology-forward” property.

“Today, as Wylie Hotel, the past gleams through our front-facing brick facade,” according to the hotel’s website. “We’ve pulled through the best of what 551 Ponce was, offering unconventional, uncompromisingly comfortable accommodations for your next jaunt to Atlanta.”

Local architect Stevens & Wilkinson and Atlanta-based interior design firm Pixel Design Co. led the renovations.
