A sandwich chain is planning lots of growth in metro Atlanta.
Fifteen new locations of Potbelly Sandwich Works are planned for the area over the next eight years thanks to a recent development agreement.
The upcoming locations come from local franchisees Soomer Punja, Zuber Khetani and Sameer Tharani of KTP PB, LLC. Targeted areas include northeast Atlanta, Cumming, East Marietta and Duluth.
The deal is part of the Potbelly 50/50 Large Area Developer Incentive Program, in which franchisees are rewarded to develop and open Potbelly shops on an accelerated timeline. Qualifying franchisees in this program get reduced initial franchise fees and reduced deposit fees, as well as 50 percent off royalty fees for the period of time the shop is opened ahead of the required opening date, according to an announcement.
“We are very excited to expand Potbelly’s footprint in Atlanta and participate as one of the first partners to the 50/50 Large Area Developer Incentive Program,” Punja said in a statement. “With an impressive menu beyond standout sandwiches and reputable brand culture, we knew this business venture was a great fit for the great Atlanta region. We cannot wait to join the Potbelly family and share the brand’s standout product within Atlanta’s passionate food community.”
The first Potbelly shop opened in Chicago in 1977 and has since grown to more than 440 locations across the U.S., including 90 franchised locations.
In addition to the toasted subs Potbelly is known for, the menu also includes salads, soups, cookies and shakes.
The 15 upcoming locations are part of Potbelly’s larger plans for growing in the Peach State. As previously reported by What Now Atlanta, Royal Restaurant Group plans to open 15 more locations of the sandwich chain in Georgia, as well as 36 in Florida and Ohio.
