JavaVino, a longtime Poncey-Highland coffee shop, will close this December. The café plans to shift fully to its fast-growing wholesale operation. The decision indicates the end of its nearly two-decade run, during which the cafe has been a neighborhood staple.
JavaVino Bids Farewell
JavaVino operates as a local coffee roaster, wholesaler, and café. The cafe, known for its farmer-produced coffee and diverse menu, announced its closure on social media. In the post, the café said it will serve its final day after 22 years in Poncey-Highland on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
“After nearly 22 years in Poncey-Highland, we’ve made the bittersweet decision to close our café to focus fully on our rapidly growing wholesale business. Our final day of service at the café will be Sunday, December 14, 2025,” the post read.
The cafe also thanked the community for making it a perfect gathering place and helped them grow the business. “We’re endlessly grateful for this community. You’ve made our café a true gathering place and helped us grow a business rooted in coffee from my parents’ farm,” it said.
Shift to Wholesale Business
While JavaVino announced its bittersweet closure this month, it also looks forward to what lies ahead for the brand.
“While closing the café is bittersweet, we are excited for what’s ahead. Focusing on wholesale allows us to share our family’s coffee with even more people and to honor the legacy that started long before we opened our doors,” the brand said in the post.
JavaVino says the shift will help it work with more coffee farmers and reach new retail and foodservice partners.
“As we enter our next chapter, we’re excited to grow our wholesale program by connecting with more coffee farmers and bringing their coffees to new retail and foodservice partners. Thank you, sincerely, for being part of our journey. We look forward to serving Atlanta, and far beyond, for many more years to come,” the post concluded.

While the café is closing, JavaVino says its farm-grown coffee and wholesale footprint will continue to expand beyond Atlanta.
