Fresh grilled cheese sandwiches are heading to Pittsburgh Yards along the Beltline’s Southside Trail. Adam J’s Sandwich Shop will open this spring in a 320-square-foot shipping container in the Container Courtyard at 352 University Ave. SW, according to a permit filing.

Adam Jackson is behind the concept. Jackson, a fifth-generation Atlantan, gained experience with building local pop-up Butterly Biscuits along with his family. He currently operates Adam J’s as a grilled cheese food truck and a catering company featuring sandwich platters and boxed lunches.

Adam J’s serves specialty grilled cheese sandwiches ranging from classic grilled cheese to chicken parmesan grilled cheese and pastrami melt grilled cheese. There is also a vegan option on the food truck’s menu.

The forthcoming shipping container restaurant will be the first brick-and-mortar location for Jackson. Jackson confirmed the concept with What Now Atlanta and shared that he plans to release further details in the coming weeks.

Pittsburgh Yards has been building out its Container Courtyard, designed to be a small business incubator. It recently welcomed Plant-based ice cream shop The Creamy Spot, and a new concept called Black Box Cafe is also joining the tenant mix.
