A new neighborhood ice cream shop is coming to Cascade Heights next year.

Jason Davis plans to launch Aiskrimu Ice Cream Bar at 2287 Cascade Rd, Unit 2291. It will come to The Point at Cascade, a project from owner and developer Shea Embry, who is passionate about revitalizing the area.

“She is trying to empower a lot of entrepreneurs,” Davis said in a phone call.

A permit was recently filed in Atlanta for the new ice cream shop. It will be about 650 square feet.

Aiskrimu means ice cream in Swahili, Davis said.

“I’m excited to be in the neighborhood,” he said. “The theme is black and white, but the interior is going to be decorated in African colors and bright colors.”

It’s his first venture in the food service industry. He works as a physical therapist and is a licensed realtor, he said.

David said he was motivated to open an ice cream shop due to the lack of options in his neighborhood.

He said Aiskrimu will offer four rotating flavors of soft-serve ice cream, including vegan options. There will also be ice cream sandwiches, such snickerdoodle, chocolate chip and oatmeal.

He hopes to open in the February of 2023.
