Developer of 1050 Howell Mill Road plans another large project across the street.

UPDATE (November 14, 2016): Paces Properties Joins $215 MM Star Metals Project on Westside

As it turns out, 1050 Howell Mill Road – which What Now Atlanta first reported details on yesterday – isn’t the only large-scale mixed-use project which Florida-based Allen Morris has slated for West Midtown.

A $210 million mixed-use is on the horizon across the street at 1055 Howell Mill as well, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Headlining as “Star Metals,” the project would include offices, apartments, restaurants and possibly a (desperately needed) organic grocer.

The developer began rezoning all of the properties from heavy industrial to mixed residential-commercial last year, as indicated in City of Atlanta records.

Judging from the renderings, the team(s) behind the design of the building are placing a huge emphasis on paying homage to the neighborhood’s industrial history.

  • While I’m VERY excited to have these projects developed on Howell Mill, my big concern is the traffic. As it stands right now, Howell Mill is a congested nightmare. Any plans to expand Howell Mill Rd??

    • Everyone is always worried about the traffic and I get why, but I also don’t see how Howell Mill could be expanded at this point – the right of way is pretty much locked in.
