The craft cocktail lounge should open in May, early June.

Amer, a new craft cocktail lounge from Brian Lewis, the restauranteur behind Bocado in West Midtown, won’t open in spring as planned.

A building permit application was filed Thursday with City of Atlanta for the late-night cocktails, bitters, and snacks joint in the Inman Quarter development, at 299 North Highland Avenue NE, and Lewis is still waiting for the landlord to “handover the space.”

“We’re looking to takeover the space in the next week,” Lewis told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Friday. “We should have permits within that same timeframe.”

With an anticipated six-week buildout, Amer should open late May, early June. An estimated $87,000 will be spent building-out the quaint 1,000-square-foot Inman Park lounge.

Lewis and his team have been testing food items and drinks at Bocado to fine-tune Amer’s menu.
