Chef Todd Richards has opened his newest concept in Georgia. The Atlanta culinary icon opened the restaurant with his wife, Gloria, to bring authentic Southern-inspired BBQ to McDonough.

Que-Riosity blends Southern flavors with an upscale dining atmosphere, honoring the Black pitmasters who helped define Southern barbecue. With its upscale atmosphere and Richards’ signature hospitality, the restaurant complements McDonough’s growing South Atlanta suburb.

“For us, keeping true Southern barbecue traditions alive means giving them the same care and attention you’d see in a fine-dining kitchen,” Chef Richards said. “We’re blending barbecue, soul food, and all the flavors that make this region’s cooking special to create something really fresh and exciting for the city.”

Que-Riosity’s menu blends traditional Southern flavors. It includes glazed ribs, smoked chicken, and creative sides, which are all made with fresh ingredients. The menu begins with shareables like fried heirloom okra, Moulard duck n’ waffles, and build-your-own deviled eggs.

Richards and his team also focus on quality and choose ingredients like free-range chicken and line-caught fish. The restaurant’s design creates a polished setting that combines soul food and barbecue with fine-dining touches. Richards reframes Southern dining traditions with a marble table, linen napkins, and other elements.

The cocktail program is led by Beverage Director Ransey Kashlan. Offering something for every mood, it includes everything from classic martinis to unique creations. The restaurant opens Thursday through Monday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

About the Chef

A self-taught chef and four-time James Beard semifinalist, Todd Richards has become an icon in Atlanta. He has worked in some of the best kitchens during his 25-year career. He serves as executive chef at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead and is an award-winning cookbook author.

Que-Riosity offers a fresh, elevated take on Southern barbecue in McDonough, positioning itself as a go-to destination for both locals and visitors.
