Benzino’s Crab Trap, the restaurant from Record Producer and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Raymond “Benzino” Scott, has snagged a space in The Gallery at South DeKalb.
The seafood restaurant had a short 6-month stint in Midtown.
Real estate development, leasing, and management company Thor Equities exclusively shared the news with What Now Atlanta Monday.
Benzino’s Crab Trap is scheduled to debut in the “urban retail center” late summer, according to a Thor Equities spokesman.
“We look forward to the opening of Benzino’s Crab Trap, which will be a welcome addition to The Gallery at South DeKalb’s growing list of popular entertainment and shopping destinations,” Joseph Sitt, CEO of Thor Equities, said in a prepared statement.
Other new tenants include Cinnabon as well as SHE Boutique, Wired Up, Uncle Renz’s Popcorn, and Platinum Plates caterers.
In addition, urban footwear and apparel retailer City Gear opened a larger flagship store across from its previous location.
Owned by Thor Equities and managed by Urban Retail Properties, The Gallery at South DeKalb features approximately 800,000 square feet of space, with more than 100 stores, food options and services including Macy’s, Fallas, Footlocker, DTLR and GameStop.
Also located on the property is a 44,610-square-foot mini-mall complex, which houses a variety of service-oriented tenants such as a United States Post Office.
We went to the Midtown location once. The food was OK but the service was not. It was also not acceptable to watch the cooks touch their faces and hair and then continue to cook and plate food. The owner(s) sat in the corner and talked about us the entire time poking fun at the fact I knocked over the container of melted butter which went all over me, the bar, and the floor. No one even offered to help clean it up, and the fact they only gave you a large piece of paper to eat on was not sufficient.
Will it be open in side the mall or out side because the mall closes at 9 at night so will there be a entrance from the outside.
