Brezza Cucina is no longer the name of the Italian eatery set to replace Donetto in West Midtown. Instead, the forthcoming restaurant will be called Baffi, according to a liquor license application filed with the City of Atlanta.

It’s unclear why the restaurant at 976 Brady Ave. NW will no longer carry the Brezza Cucina name — which was set to be a relocation from Ponce City Market — but a source with first-hand knowledge of Baffi told What Now Atlanta (WNA) that both Andrew Cacioppo and Celebrity Chef Jonathan Waxman are still attached to the project. Cacioppo — who is still using his Brezza Cucina email — on Wednesday did not immediately respond to WNA’s request for comment. Our source did say with little to no work being done at the space, an opening “ahead of the holidays” is likely.

“Baffi” — the Italian word for “mustache” — takes Suite 110 in the Stockyards development where the short-lived Donetto was once situated. Donetto was an Italian restaurant from Charleston-based The Indigo Road that quietly closed its doors in March.
