Quick service restaurant files plans for second Georgia location.

Tampa-based fast-casual restaurant chain Burger 21 is moving forward with its plans for rapid expansion.

After opening its first metro-Atlanta location near the Mall of Georgia in Buford last summer, the burger joint Thursday submitted a building permit application to City of Atlanta to convert space in Buckhead into a Burger 21.

The quick-service franchise will replace the now-shuttered Scenario, at 4279 Roswell Road in the Publix-anchored Chastain Square shopping center, according to the application.

The fast-casual concept founded by the owners of The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. is looking to open franchise locations throughout the state including Johns Creek, Alpharetta and Dunwoody for starters.

Burger 21’s menu is comprised of 21 burgers ranging from ground beef to chicken, turkey, shrimp and tuna burgers, as well as salads, Hebrew National all-beef hot dogs, and a “shake bar” including hand-dipped shakes, floats and sundaes.
