Candler Park in early-2020 is getting Candler Rail Brewery, the Atlanta Business Chronicle Monday first reported.

Co-Owner Allen Porter Tuesday confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta.

Porter and his three partners—one of which is his father Winston—will open the brewpub in space previously occupied by The Mercantile, at 1660 DeKalb Ave NE suite 150.

The Mercantile, a deli and wine shop in the Clifton Place shopping center, closed its doors late-2018 at the expiration of its 10-year lease.

Porter is the owner of Porter Pizza and Brewery, the recently-opened Porter BBQ and Brewery, and was responsible for turning STATS into a brewpub.

Candler Rail will serve rotating beers and on the menu will be Mexican cuisine, he said.

More details will be released in August including project renderings.
